Two veteran Myanmar counselors discuss the challenges and advantages of developing a school counselor network from scratch. Our efforts led to a tripling of visits from universities, jump starting a child protection committee across schools and a support network for all members involved.

This fireside chat was hosted by:

  • Mick Amundson-Geisel, High School Counselor at The International School Yangon.

Mick has worked at The International School Yangon for 10 years as a comprehensive school counselor and has overseen the Myanmar International School Counselor network since its inception.  His wife is the elementary school counselor and his kids have attended the same school.  Though there are more challenges than ever before in Myanmar, working with students and professionals within the field keeps him going.

  • Neucasha Greene, Virtual College Counselor

Neucasha Greene works part time as a virtual college counselor, providing college and career preparation for high school students. She is from The Bahamas and has worked in international schools for five years across K-13 grade levels and several academic systems. She enjoys exploring hobbies such as photography, traveling and learning about other cultures through food.
