Increased understanding of DEIJ (diversity, equity, inclusion and justice) calls us to account. For many of us, it raises awareness of our bias or, in some cases prejudice, which may never have been intentional but, nonetheless, favoured one group over another.
Amended International School Student Profile Report now published
In our continual effort to address and respond to unconscious bias in our content, we have amended one section of our International School Student Profile Report to provide historical context of the international schools market from an anti-racist viewpoint. In a bid to acknowledge our mistake, our corrections are now identified in the footnotes of the amended report now published. Thanks go to anthropologist and author, Danau Tanu for her expert advice in guiding our amendments.
An impartial approach
This report aims to provide an impartial, market-wide view of the international student profile and the place of international mindedness within international school curricula and ethos, without bias to one particular school type, orientation or learning approach. Where relevant, we encourage schools, as well as associations and organisations representing or supporting the international schools market, to use this and our other market reports and data to inform future plans, whether that relates to change, development or advocacy.
