This 2024 International School Awards Fireside Chat special will delve into the intersection of service learning and the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs). They will navigate the path towards creating global citizens, this journey is not just a path of their curriculum but an integral aspect of the Prince of Wales Island International School ethos. The theme flows through their mission, vision and the fabric of what they do with the four core values focused within a global citizenship strand (Collaboration, Integrity, Kindness and Open-mindedness). They will also discuss how they empower students to have a voice and make an impact on all of the 17 SDGs.

Samuel Hodge, Deputy Principal (Student and Community Development) at Prince of Wales Island International School
Sam has been working in the education sector for 18 years across UK state schools where he was a specialist leader for Education for Design and Technology as well as an Achievement Director for the largest academy trust in the UK. He is currently in Malaysia as a Deputy Principal (Student and Community and Development) and was the creator of the POWIIS project.
Anna Glossop, Deputy Principal at Prince of Wales Island International School Tanjung Bungah
Anna has been working in education for the last 14 years. She started out as a Design and Technology teacher and has since worked in a variety of pastoral roles across the school ages. Anna has been involved with a range of educational settings throughout her career from teaching carpentry in UK prisons settings in the leadership roles in a Malaysian International school. Anna is now the Deputy principal at POWIIS Tanjung Bungah. (aged 3-13).
