Laurence works in the confluence of service learning, global citizenship and sustainability. His hybrid educational role focuses on thought leadership, instructional coaching, systems thinking facilitation and shifting educational culture to catalyze sustainable institutional culture and curricular change. He leads, coordinates and supports the embedding of a dynamic school-wide program at the American School of Dubai – Changemaker Education – that shifts the teaching and learning environment ever-so-gently to the paradigm shift we hope for.

Crystal Pottebaum was born and raised on a farm in Iowa, USA. She currently is a 4th Grade Teacher at the American International School Dhaka (AISD), and is moving to the International School of Debrecen (ISD) next year to work as a PYP Service and Sustainability Coordinator. Crystal is passionate about service learning, sustainability, and women’s rights. While in Nigeria, she helped her students recycle old tires to design and build a playground for a local school. She recently wrote a book titled Pass it to Rizwana based on challenges women in Bangladesh face playing sports. When you don’t find Crystal teaching or coaching, you’ll find her exploring nature and hiking around the world.
