ISC Research has analysed the latest data updates for the K-12 international schools market, featuring statistics on total fee income, student enrolment, and teacher recruitment as of July 2024.

Over the last few years, India has seen a steady increase in both demand and supply for international schools, particularly in the academic year 2023-24 compared to 2022-23. Due to the changing landscape of government policies, educational engagements and prioritising quality education, the prospects look excellent for international schools in India.

As of January 2024, ISC Research data recorded a total of 14,010 English-medium international schools around the world enrolling 6.9 million students between 3 and 18 and employing 664,645 teaching staff. The sector continues to grow as parents seek educational choices for their children that guarantee quality and put students on a path to a global future.

International schools are witnessing an unprecedented demand for teachers, a trend expected to continue into the coming decade. ISC Research has published a new specialist report looking at the recruitment and retention of teachers within international schools around the world.

Today, international schools are a familiar presence in numerous cities around the world. As of July 2023, ISC Research data recorded a total of 13,614 English-Medium international schools around the world enrolling close to 7 million students and employing 649,960 teaching staff. The sector continues to demonstrate resilience, generating over $58 billion USD, a growth of 18% in the last five years.
